An in-house workshop for anyone who uses the written word to inform and persuade
Participants in my writing skills training learn the fundamentals of writing clear, crisp and compelling copy for internal or external communication. The workshop demystifies the writing process and helps managers and other communicators come up with content that will be read and remembered.
What I cover
- Meeting readers’ needs
- Structuring your content
- Getting attention
- Writing clearly and succinctly
- Editing your work – and that of others
- Writing for the web/intranet
Who it’s for
Anyone who needs to inform and influence with the written word and wants to make the task easier, more fulfilling and more successful. It will be useful to people in your organisation whatever they are called on to write:
- articles for the company newsletter or magazine
- intranet and website content, including blog posts
- memos and announcements
- e-mails and letters
- policies and procedural guidance
Format and style
Of course, all of us learn best by doing, not by being told. That’s why this is a highly interactive workshop with lots of practical exercises for participants to get stuck into. There’s minimal chalk-and-talk from me.
I can run the writing skills training as a half-day or one-day workshop and tailor it to your organisation’s needs.
